BURNINGFLOWER INC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the EaseNote mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.

By using EaseNote, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Audio and Voice Data

When you use the recording feature:

  • Voice Recordings: Audio captured through your device's microphone
  • Audio Metadata: Duration, format, and timestamp of recordings

2.2 Generated Content

  • Transcriptions: Text converted from your audio recordings
  • Structured Notes: AI-generated summaries, key points, and action items

2.3 Device and Usage Information

Automatically collected by Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics:

  • Device type, model, and operating system version
  • App version and build number
  • Screen views and session duration
  • Crash logs and error reports
  • Device language and timezone

Important: This data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you personally.

2.4 Account Information (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google:

  • Email address
  • Name
  • Profile picture (provided by Google)

Note: We only use this information to create and manage your account. We do not access your Google account data beyond what you authorize.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

3.1 AI Processing with OpenAI

We use OpenAI's services to provide our core features:

Audio Transcription API (/v1/audio/transcriptions)

  • Purpose: Convert your voice recordings to text
  • What we send: Your audio files
  • Provider: OpenAI (Whisper model)

Chat Completions API (/v1/chat/completions)

  • Purpose: Generate structured notes from transcribed text
  • What we send: Transcribed text
  • Provider: OpenAI (GPT models)

Important Information:

  • Your data is transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS
  • OpenAI retains data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then permanently deletes it
  • Your data is NOT used to train AI models

3.2 Service Provision

We use your information to:

  • Process your audio recordings into text transcriptions
  • Generate structured notes
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs
  • Respond to your support requests

Google Sign-In

  • Purpose: User authentication (if you choose to sign in with Google)
  • What we share: You authorize Google to share your email, name, and profile picture with us

Firebase Analytics

  • Purpose: App usage analytics (anonymized)
  • What we collect: Screen views, session duration, device type
  • Data retention: 60 days

  • What we collect: Device info, crash logs, app version

5.3 Apple Inc.

  • Purpose: App distribution and payment processing
  • What we share: Subscription status (no payment details)

We do NOT:

  • ❌ Sell your data to third parties
  • ❌ Use your content for advertising
  • ❌ Share your recordings with anyone except OpenAI for processing
  • ❌ Share personally identifiable information with analytics services (analytics data is anonymized)

6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

6.1 How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Audio & Notes: Stored locally on your device until you delete them
  • Data sent to OpenAI: Automatically deleted after 30 days
  • Account data: Until you request account deletion

6.2 How to Delete Your Data

To delete individual notes:

  1. Tap on a note in the home screen
  2. In the popup window, select "Delete"
  3. Confirm deletion

Note: Deleted notes cannot be recovered.

To delete all data:

  • Currently, notes must be deleted one by one
  • For complete account deletion, email us at [email protected]

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your notes and account
  • Export your data

8. SECURITY

We protect your data with:

  • Encryption during transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure storage on your device
  • Limited access to any server-stored data

However, no system is 100% secure. You acknowledge the inherent risks of transmitting data over the internet.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

EaseNote is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data may be processed in the United States, where OpenAI's services are located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
